Thomson Reuters to be cut from Dow Jones indexes

Global index provider Dow Jones Indexes announced Monday that Thomson Reuters PLC will be taken off the Dow Jones Media Titans 30 index and replaced by Publicis Groupe SA, according to a Global Newswire, posted by Reuters. It will also be removed from the Dow Jones UK Titans 50 index and replaced by Tullow Oil Plc.

According to a statement from Dow Jones, Thomson Reuters is being cut because it has been delisted from the London Stock Exchange, Xinhua reported. The changes will go into effect Thursday.

Index compiler FTSE also confirmed that Thomson Reuters will be replaced on the FTSE 100 index in London by luxury goods maker Burberry.

Thomson Reuters is being removed from the FTSE 100 because "it said it wanted to simplify its capital structure and eliminate the persistent discount at which the London shares have traded to its North American listings," according to a report by Reuters.
