Australian print industry body The Newspaper Works has opened the survey of its members' readership for tender, Research.com reported Tuesday. The newspaper organisation revealed in July it was looking for an agency to submit readership measurement metrics for newspapers in Australia.
The survey will be supported by the Media Federation of Australia, The Australian Association of National Advertisers and the Advertising Federation of Australia. Expressions of interest must be made by September 25.
The new readership survey will face competition from Australian newspaper consumer research veteran Roy Morgan, which has supplied the industry with statistics for the last 30 years.
After The Newspaper Works revealed it would offer its contract for tender, Roy Morgan chief executive Michele Levine said the firm would not contend for the contract but would instead continue to offer its survey.
