Independent News and Media has signed two long-term deals with UK newspapers, the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mirror, to print the papers at its plants in Northern Ireland, BBC News reported Tuesday.
The deal, worth £40 million, will mean Northern Ireland will become one of Europe's largest producers of daily newspapers.
A 15-year contract with the Telegraph will see the newspaper printed in its entirety at the IN&M plant in Newry, County Down. The company also extended its contact with the Mirror at its Belfast Telegraph press for an additional seven years, according to the BBC.
The new agreements give the Northern Ireland-based IN&M printing contracts for the entire Mirror and Telegraph portfolios with printing responsibilities for the Sun, News of the World, the Daily Express and Sunday Express, the Daily Star and the London Independent.
