Barnes & Noble has unveiled its new e-book reader, named 'Nook,' which features a colour touch screen and electronic paper display. It runs on Google's Android OS, and will also have AT&T wireless capability. The e-reader will go on sale in November, and retail for US$259, about the same price as the Kindle 2.
Wired touted the new e-reader as "hot, both inside and out," and warned readers who recently ordered a Kindle to "stop reading now or you're in for a giant dose of buyer's remorse."
Nook's main source of content is, of course, the Barnes & Noble e-book store, which also offers some newspapers and magazines, Gizmodo reported, noting that the e-reader can be synced with several mobile phone applications offered by Barnes & Noble.
This means Nook has room for up to 1,500 e-books, newspapers or magazines, and an additional memory card stores 17,500, according to Barnes & Noble.
