UK newspaper The Independent is preparing to launch a new titles for readers in their 20s, MediaGuardian reported today. However, an official announcement is not expected until next week.
It is believed the title will cost 20 pence. It is not expected to have a separate editor, as it will likely use original material and content from the Independent. "There has been intense speculation in recent months that the Independent could launch a free version of the paper. One senior industry source say it could be a 'staging post' on the way to making the Independent free," MediaGuardian's report stated.
