The country list now includes Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Turkey and Venezuela, the Financial Post pointed out. Meanwhile, Detroit, Miami, Minneapolis, Rio De Janeiro, Sydney, and Toronto were also added to local trending topics.
According to Twitter's blog, these "new locations include some of our fastest growing markets." The local trend topics was introduced earlier this year, Mashable.com reminded.
The company also announced that it would provide translations for Tweets that are in languages different than the language selected by the user. "We are now using Google Translate to display Tweet translations in the details pane to give people more access to what people are talking about around the world." However, the service is not yet available for all users.
