AT&T and Yahoo announced on Tuesday that the two companies have formed a partnership for the sale of Yahoo's display inventory beginning later this summer, paidContent.org reported.
Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz celebrated the addition of AT&T's 5,000-person sales force, stating it it would bring the company's local, U.S. ad sales team to 13,000.

However, the new partnership could create competing interests for Yahoo and its existing newspaper consortium advertising team as there is likely to be consumer overlap for the two groups.
Yahoo SVP Jim Schinella told ClickTV that AT&T and newspaper had competed for business for a long time but that the two groups, "naturally gravitate toward different business partners."
However, some Yahoo consortium members are already flustered by the potential competition from their parent company's new self-ad product, My Display Ads.
