According to a new study by BuzzLogic and JupiterResearch, blogs can help build solid relationships with customers, eMarketer reported.

The August 2008 study found that blogs are quite popular. In the past four years, monthly blog readership has been up 300 percent, and currently more than 50 percent of the online population reads blogs.

The study also indicated that blogs influence purchasing decisions more than social networks. One out of four readers said they trust ads on a blog, compared to only 19 percent who trust social networking ads.

Four out of 10 overall blog readers, as well as half of frequent blog readers, have taken actions as a result of viewing blog ads, eMarketer reported.

Blogs have become more and more important as a key marketing channel. According to a Marketing Executives Networking Group (MENG) study released in October 2008, more than two out of three executives adopt blogs in their marketing plans, eMarketer reported.
