Swiss publisher Ringier launched a free daily in the Serbian capital of Belgrade in Sept. 2006. The daily 24 sata (24 hours) is similar to other Ringier free dailies in eastern Europe: 24 Hodin (Czech Republic) and Compact (Romania). In Switzerland, Ringier publishes free dailies Heute and Cash Daily.
The 150,000 copies of 24 sata are distributed mostly through bus stations. Ringier also publishes tabloid Blic, the second paid paper in Belgrade (circulation 120,000).24 sata is the second paper in Belgrade after government controlled Vecemje Novosti.
