A mobile version of the People's Daily newspaper was officially launched on February 28 in Beijing. China Mobile users can subscribe to the mobile version by sending the short message "rmrb" to server 7000.
It has been reported that related departments began preparing the mobile version of the paper as early as one year ago. The Department of Publicity, the State Council Information Office, the Information Industry Ministry and China Mobile have given strong support to the program.
