USA Today plans to open a store in New York’s LaGuardia Airport in order to extend its brand footprint.
Merchandise will be available at the store, which will have everything displayed according to newspaper’s color scheme – lifestyle products in purple, sports in red, financial goods in green and news in blue.
Executives did not disclose details about the types of products being sold, but publisher Craig Moon mentioned plans to develop USA Today-branded sudoku games and food products in the future, according to DM News.
USA Today has recently been working on expansion projects. It began to offer widgets to online readers earlier this month. A public relations blitz in celebration of its 25th anniversary was also held.
