Online ad spending is growing at 26.8 percent, “a torrid pace,” during this year's first half, compared to the same period last year, the Interactive Advertising Bureau's president told a New York conference.
This is the first time spending has hit the $10 billion milestone in the first half of a year, Randall Rothenberg said at a conference last week.
According to IAB's ad spending report, conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers, online ad spend figures for the first half of 2006 were at $7.9 billion, a 37 percent increase over the same period in 2005, ClickZ reported.
However, the Nielsen Company and TNS Media Intelligence reported a slowdown in online spending growth during the first half of 2007 compared to the same period in 2006.
