Globrix will be different from existing property sites, such as Propertyfinder.com, because it will not charge real estate agents to list their properties, Brand Republic reported. News International already owns Propertyfinder. Revenues will come from selling advertising space around search results, which will be automatically listed and linked from thousands of real estate agents' Web sites.

And, like most other property search sites, users will be able to specify search criteria, such as price, postcode and number of bedrooms. However, they will be able to get even more specific, and be able to search out things such as gardens, parking, period of the property and distance from pubic transport.

“Globrix is about answering a fundamental need in this marketplace – creating a Google-style model for the property search industry,” Daniel Lee, chief executive of Globrix, told Brand Republic.
