The deal includes large U.S. newspapers including The San Francisco Chronicle, Houston Chronicle and San Jose Mercury News, according to the Post Intelligencer.

The new alliance will begin early in 2008, and other newspaper companies are expected to join. Currently, newspaper groups involved include the Journal Register Company, Lee Enterprises, MediaNews Group, Morris Communications Company, Paddock Publications, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, The E.W. Scripps Company and Hearst Newspapers, the Post Intelligencer reported.

“The tremendous local reach of our newspapers and online sites, coupled with our strong local sales forces, provides a powerful springboard for this partnership with Zillow,” said Lincoln Millstein, vice president of Hearst Newspapers, in a statement, according to the Post Intelligencer.
