The Chicago Tribune announced Thursday it will expand its community journalism Web site coverage to Chicago's southwest and western suburbs.
Officials at Triblocal.com said the expansion plan will start this week, which includes 13 more suburbs.
In April 2007, the paper launched the Web site, allowing readers to publish stories, photos and blogs about the local communities.
With the latest edition, 21 communities will be covered through the site, Editor & Publisher reported.
Tribune expects by the end of 2008 to have 35 hyper-local sites, and also eight localised print supplements, which will be packaged with the newspaper on a regular basis.
