Video on demand, digital video recorders, online video and broadband Internet will all have their base gains by the year of 2011, according to research firm eMarketer.
Digital video recorders are the fastest growing. There will be 45.1 million DVR households in the United States by 2011, growing from merely 18.6 million in 2006.

Video on demand is another seeing big increases – 58.4 million U.S. households will have VOD access by 2011, almost twofold compared to the 29.7 million in 2006.
Online video viewers, broadband Internet users and broadband households will also increase, reaching 183 million, 200.2 million and 89.9 million households by 2011, respectively.
TV, on the other hand, is expected to grow relatively slower than its digital counterparts. TV viewers will increase from 283.5 million in 2006 to 298.5 million in 2011, while TV households will rise from 111.6 million to 119.4 million, eMarketer reported.
