Rudd said that although he is confident Keelty as a commissioner, the government will not act on his call, ABC News reported.

“He's speaking obviously in terms of his own capacity as head of the Federal Police,” he said, according to ABC News. “The government has its own view and the government's view is that the media should simply abide by the laws of the land.”
