MothersClick.com has acquired MothersGroups.com and has also launched a new portal of mom-centric and parenting Web sites, the company announced Monday.
The acquisition of the domain strengthens the company's online assets and casts a wider net for their target audience. MothersClick is a subsidiary of the ParentsClick Network, which currently owns more than 150 parenting-related domains, according to a company statement.
MothersClick is a social networking site and online and online service provider designed for mothers and mothers' groups. MothersGroups is a search site that offers direct search and mapping to find mothers groups.
“We believe MothersGroups.com is a definitive domain for our target audience,” Andra Davidson, co-founder and president of MothersClick.com, said in a statement. “Since we provide services specifically for active moms and mothers groups, we are thrilled to own this important address and add value to our existing brand.”
Pete Lamson, senior vice president and general manager of NameMedia's marketplace properties stated that unique keyword domain names leverage “the power of direct search while simultaneously driving increased SEO results within a highly targeted customer demographic. “This acquisition makes perfect sense for MothersClick as a valuable asset for the company's existing domain portfolio and their core business.”
Buying up the domain name and adding it to the ParentsClick network “gives us the advantage to establish a number of vertical properties and complementary services,” Davidson stated.
