In terms of online ad share of overall ad spending, North America was taking the lead before 2005, and was surpassed by Western Europe after 2006.

In 2010, Internet ad spending share in Western Europe will be over 15 percent, while those in Asia Pacific and North America account for nearly 12 percent. The online ad share in Central and Eastern Europe and Latin America, however, are still niche – which are less than four percent, according to ZenithOptimedia’s data.
