SanomaWSOY misses Q4 profits forecasts

Finland's top media group SanomaWSOY reported fourth quarter profits that missed previous forecasts' marks, due to weak showings in its newspaper unit and education and books division, Reuters reported Thursday.
Operating profit in the fourth quarter of 2007 declined to 68.3 million euro, from 73.9 million the same quarter the year previous, the company announced Thursday.
The results missed the average forecast of 82 million euro, according to a Reuters poll of 10 analysts.
SanomaWSOY said it expects net sales to grow about 6.7 percent in 2008, in line with 2007 growth. It also expects operating profit to improve, according to Reuters.
