YouTube to launch live video service this year

YouTube will launch a live video service later this year, according to reports by Industry blogs TechCrunch and NewTeeVee late last week.
YouTube co-founder Steve Chen verified the news during a conversation with Pop17 videoblogger Sarah Meyers.
However, a YouTube spokesperson would only tell Media Post that “We are constantly working to introduce features to delight our users and partners, but we have nothing further to announce at this time.”
It’s believed the move will post a threat to current live video service providers, such as blogTV, Justin.TV, LiveUniverse, Mogulus, and Ustream.
Earlier in February, Yahoo launched Yahoo Live, its own live video-streaming service, Media Post reported.
