The U.S. version of the Wall Street Journal could be available to other parts of Europe, following its launch in London, the Guardian reported.
The U.S. edition of the financial paper began being sold in London for the first time Wednesday as part of News Corp.'s global expansion plans.
It is being sold alongside the European edition, the Wall Street Journal Europe.
The two versions would go "hand in hand," Les Hinton, the chief executive of the WSJ’s parent company, Dow Jones, said at a party Wednesday to celebrate the European edition's 25th anniversary.
“The Wall Street Journal Europe would continue to meet a specialised and local need, while the U.S. version would attract a loyal core of readers in London,” he added. “I hope eventually other financial centres in Europe.”
This title has launched a new London column titled “Letter From the City” on Monday and Friday.
The column will be written by staff reporters at the London bureaux of the Journal, Dow Jones Newswires and sister publication Financial News, The Guardian reported.
