On Thursday, National Union of Journalist representatives met with David Schlesinger, Thomson-Reuters editor-in-chief, but nothing came of the talks, and the NUJ meeting Friday morning saw staffers from Thomson vote unanimously in favour of voting on industrial action if management does not offer concrete proposals, according to the Guardian.

Internal candidates for jobs within Thomson-Reuters have reported that managers are looking to change their Thomson working conditions, which had been protected under the merger.

"Management's position has hardened to the point where they look like they really want to start sacking people," an NUJ official told the Guardian.
