Sir Paul McCartney will give away his latest album with editions of the Mail on Sunday, Gigwise.com reported Tuesday.
The Beatle alum's album, “Memory Almost Full,” will be free with the May 18th edition of the newspaper. It was released on Starbucks' Hear Music label last year.
Last year, the Mail on Sunday gave away Prince's “Planet Earth” album for free, and more recently UB40 gave a 10 track sampler away as one of the paper's supplements, according to Gigwise.com.
McCartney's album has sold nearly 100,000 copies in the United Kingdom to date, and peaked at number five on the albums chart, MusicWeek reported.
Stephen Miron, managing director for the Mail on Sunday, said that the deal will “prove a shot in the arm for the album's fortunes,” the MusicWeek article stated. Details on the terms of the deal have not been released.
