Homes in Singapore will be wired with a fibre optic link, hooking them up to broadband, the Straits Times reported Friday.
In as early as two years, the Fibre To The Home (FTTH) technology promises faster broadband access for all homes in Singapore.
On Monday, two bidders for the Next Generation National Broadband Network submitted their bids. Existing wall jacks in homes will remain, and a new fibre optic link will be added, according to the Straits Times article, posted by Asia Media.
The two bidders are OpenNet group, made up of Axia NetMedia, SingTel, Singapore Press Holdings and SP Telecommunications, and Infinity Consortium, made up of City Telecom, StarHub and MobileOne.
