Google's Android phones to be available later in 2008

Google Inc. will unveil its first mobile phones that run on the online giant's Android operating system within the second half of 2008, Bloomberg reported Monday.
Android will allow users to check e-mail, search the Internet and watch videos on their mobiles.
The phone will compete with systems from Apple, Microsoft and Research In Motion, Bloomberg reported.
“They look at mobile as one of the emerging, multi-decade opportunities,” Scott Kessler, Standard & Poor analyst, told Bloomberg. “This is about market share for Google right now.”
