AD Algemeen Dagblad, owned by AD NieuwsMedia, published 606,000 copies a day, and had a readership of more than 1.8 million. Its cover price was the lowest among the top 10.

Those in the third and the fourth spots were both published by the PCM Uitgevers group. De Volkskrant and NRC Handelsblad had a circulation of 295,000 and 249,000, and a readership of 776,000 and 490,000, respectively.

Other paid dailies on the top 10 list were Dagblad De Limburger/Limburgs Dagblad, De Gelderlander, Dagblad van het Noorden, Noordhollands Dagblad, de Stentor, and Brabants Dagblad, according to the World Press Trends 2006 published by the World Association of Newspapers.
