Study: TV most-consumed medium among teens
Of all main media, TV is the most-consumed among teenagers, according to WNA's Gen World Study, SFN's World Digital Media Trends 2007 reported.
Eighty-five percent of the respondents consumed TV at least almost every day, followed by the Internet with 62 percent. Listening to CDs, talking on mobile phones and surfing online were also very common. Traditional media, like newspapers and magazines, were read daily by 22 percent and 17 percent of teens, respectively. Going to movies was the least common in the ranking.

In general, teenagers use digital media on a daily basis. Based on WNA's Gen World Study, more than 80 percent of the teenage respondents in France, the United Kingdom, Spain and Australia performed at least two of the following activities related to digital media: talking on their mobile phone, sending text messages, going online, e-mailing, sending instant messages or using a search engine.
Among the 13 countries involved in the survey, only Brazil and India lagged behind: Teens in Brazil and India use these media daily 23 percent and 5 percent, respectively, according to the report, World Digital Media Trends 2007, released by SFN and the World Association of Newspapers.
