SFN report: TV still the top news source consumed yesterday in the U.S.

TV still ranked on top as the news source people surveyed said they consumed the day before in the United States, although the percentage of consumption declined from 68 percent in 1991 to 57 percent in 2008, according to Pew Research Center's Biennial News Consumption Survey.
Radio and newspapers were ranked second and third in the survey behind TV, although the scores also dropped throughout the years, from 56 percent to 34 percent for newspapers, and from 54 percent to 35 percent for radio, SFN's World Digital Media Trends 2009 reported.
Although online did not appeared as an option in the survey question until 2004, it increased from 24 percent to 29 percent in 2008,according to the report, World Digital Media Trends 2009, released by SFN and the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers.
