Colorado Springs Gazette launches free daily

The Colorado Springs Gazette will launch a free daily called Ink on May 6, Newspaper Innovation reported.

According to the Gazette's executive editor Jeff Thomas, the paper "will combine original reporting, readers' stories, news from wire services and from The Gazette".

Thomas described the new free publication as a sort of supplement to The Gazette, calling Ink "a 10-minute publication people can read while they're having a bagel" whereas the Gazette offers "a full course meal" of news, he said. Ink will be printed from Wednesday through Saturday.
