Irish-language paper revived as supplement to Independent

FoinseIndependent.jpgThe Irish-language newspaper Foinse, closed in June, has been relaunched and will be available for free with the Irish Independent each Wednesday, the Independent announced last weekend.

Foinse's closure was lamented across the island nation, as it both informed readers and furthered the Irish culture. The publication was previously financed by Foras na Gaeilge and had been published since 1996. Previous circulation was 4,500, but thanks to the agreement with the Independent, Ireland's best-selling daily, circulation will reach more than 152,000.
