Financial News, which covers the London securities market and has more than 47,000 subscribers, has 1,100 paying site license holders. However, specific licensing costs weren't disclosed by the group, which told paidContent that "pricing is based on the particular needs of the customer."
The newly designed Financial News site focuses on four core news sectors: asset management, investment banking, private equity and trading and technology, whilst offering innovative data tools, refined navigation, personalisation features and a new blog called "Financial Muse," according to a press release posted by the UK Association of Online Publishers.
"The changes we've unveiled today have created a site that's richer, deeper and more flexible. But what hasn't changed is our insight, expertise and accuracy, our commitment to breaking news, telling our readers why a story's important and how it matters to them," Phillipa Leighton-Jones, online editor of Financial News, said in a statement.
According to paidContent, the new site is anything but exciting, but new features aim to give readers more in-depth content and data.
In addition to a blog and news coverage, the site now offers a new "People" page, wherein users can keep track of peoples' industry movements. Also, a new "Quick Links" feature facilitates quick and easy navigation through news, analysis, features and lifestyle content from the Financial News print edition on a single page, press release stated.
Two prominent advertising slots are provided above the fold, while more targeted advertising opportunities that include behavioural targeting packages will be available soon on the Financial News site and The Wall Street Journal Digital Network.
