The Xi'an Daily printing centre has ordered a new printing press to modernise its pressroom, according to a press release Friday.

The addition of a 4x2 Goss Newsliner press will see the printing capacity expanded to 75,000-copies-per-hour. The new press will also increase the colour capacity of sister newspapers the Xi'an Daily and Xi'an Evening News.

Servicing the Shaanxi province for nearly 60 years the Xi'an papers have seen their circulations more than double to 450,000 copies. The newspapers have been fuelled by advertising and circulation growths due the cultural and tourism development in central China.
